As a rule, games in this series either contain ''SNK vs. Capcom'' or ''Capcom vs. SNK'', the first company denoting the company behind the game's publication. Games in this series appear for various platforms, including the NAOMI ( Arcade ), Neo-Geo (arcade), PlayStation , PlayStation 2 , Nintendo GameCube , Xbox , Neo-Geo Pocket Color , and Sega Dreamcast .

The supposed origin behind this series was an issue of ''Arcadia'' '' was only made in order to fufill the contract obligations that SNK made prior to the company filing Bankruptcy and their eventual closing in 2000 . Also, if one company was the main creator of one game, the distributing company would gain the profits and not the company that licensed the characters for use (although SNK gave the rights to use the SNK characters to Capcom for the ''Capcom vs. SNK'' games, SNK didn't profit from the game, which didn't help their financial problems).

  • ''Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000''

  • --- Also known as ''Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Battle 2000'' in Japan.

  • --- An update called ''Capcom vs. SNK Pro'' included the supposed "champions" of the Millennium Fight tournament, Dan Hibiki and Joe Higashi . The game also lost the shop option to earn extra characters and colors, unlocking them all from the start instead.

  • --- Also known as ''Capcom vs. SNK 2: Millionaire Fighting 2001'' in Japan.

  • --- The GameCube and Xbox versions of this game is called '' Capcom Vs. SNK 2 EO '' because of a new feature called the "Easy Operation/Extreme Offense." It's where special moves are performed using movement of an analog stick instead of the traditional fighting game motions.

NON-FIGHTING GAMES

Although not commonly referred to as members of the ''SNK vs. series'' (since they are not fighting games), nevertheless they are part of the series.

    • : This was an electronic Trading Card Game on the Neo-Geo Pocket Color in which cards represented the various Capcom and SNK characters. There were two versions of this game: SNK and Capcom, indicating the game with the higher amount of characters from that company. Physical trading cards have also been created, with slightly differing rules.

  • ''SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters 2 Expand Edition''

    • : This was an electronic trading card game that expanded upon the first to include characters from ''Capcom vs. SNK 2''. Since SNK pulled the Neo-Geo Pocket Color from the American marketplace so early in the systems lifespan, it was never released in America.

  • ''SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters Clash DS'' (working title)

    • : This is a continuation of the ''Card Fighters'' series for the Nintendo DS , what role the touch screen will play however, has yet to be seen.
