Rottefella




Rottefella (lit. "The Rat trap") is a Norwegian Cross-Country Ski Binding manufacturer. It makes NNN (New Nordic Norm) bindings.

They manufacture everything from Telemark to Backcountry to World Cup racing bindings. Rottefella makes only NNN-compatible bindings, but is part of the Alpina-Madshus-Rottefella partnership. Madshus , a Norwegian company as well, makes Cross-country Skis , Alpina Sports makes NNN-compatible boots, and Rottefella makes NNN-compatible bindings.

ROTTEFELLA/FISCHER PARTNERSHIP

Taking effect beginning of the 2007-2008, Rottefella will be the official bindings of Fischer Skis boots. Presently, Fischer boots use the Salomon Nordic System (SNS.) Rottefella is a manufacturer of NNN (New Nordic Norm) bindings. These two binding systems are not compatible, and, beginning in 2007, Fischer will be using the NNN system to be compatible with Rottefella bindings.


HISTORY

The original ''rat trap'' toe binding was invented by Bror With in 1927 , and was the standard cross country binding for over 50 years until it was replaced by the NNN binding.
