Rose Bay is one of Sydney's most desirable and affluent suburbs because it is one of the few places you can see both the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge together. Rose Bay has been the centre of Sydney's well-established Jewish community, which has now spread all over the Eastern Suburbs . It is still a strong centre for the Jewish population of Sydney, and has attracted a sizeable number of immigrants from Israel , South Africa and Russia . Private schools include Kambala Girls School , an Anglican all girls school with a grey uniform and fairly strong theatre and music departments. Kincoppal - Rose Bay is a Catholic school consisting of a senior, all girls school and a cooeducational junior school. Kincoppal - Rose Bay was originally Rose Bay Convent but amalgamated with Kincoppal Elizabeth Bay in the late 1970's to become "Kincoppal - Rose Bay School of the Sacred Heart". Recently in addition to Rose Bay Public School a new public high school opened up in Rose Bay, the Rose Bay Secondary College . It was formed by the amalgamation of Vaucluse High School and Dover Heights High School . The cost of improving the school facilities at Rose Bay were to be funded by the sale of the campus at Vaucluse , but a recent surge in enrollments associated with the improved facilities has put the sale in doubt. There are two golf courses located in Rose Bay: Woollahra Golf Club; a public 9-hole course. Royal Sydney Golf Club; a private 27-hole championship course, not open to the public. EXTERNAL LINKS |
