Roman Catholic Diocese Of Juneau




The Roman Catholic Diocese of Juneau is an ecclesiastical territory or Diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in the northwestern United States , comprised of the southeastern part of the state of Alaska . It is led by a Prelate Bishop which serves as Pastor of the Motherchurch , Cathedral Of The Nativity in the City Of Juneau . The current Bishop , the fourth for the diocese is Most Reverend Bishop Michael W Warfel. The diocese is a suffragan of the Archdiocese Of Anchorage .

The See of Juneau was canonically erected on June 23 , 1951 . It took its territory from the former Apostolic Vicariate Of Alaska .
