Then it moved to Los Angeles, California and Philadelphia , Pennsylvania as 2006 progressed. The production budget on the 38-day shoot is projected to be $24 million. More time has elapsed between '' Rocky V '' and ''Rocky VI'' than between the first and fifth ''Rocky'' movies. The film was scheduled for release during the President's Day holiday in 2007, but was moved up to December 2006. In late March 2006, the first movie teaser was released on the Internet.

SYNOPSIS

Although details are scarse, the movie is about long time retired Ex-Heavyweight Champion Rocky Balboa. After having lost his beloved Adrian to cancer, and left behind his only true talent, boxing, Rocky finds himself living in the past. Still residing in his old neigborhood, Rocky can not help but to think back about the times that were, he can see the whole world changing, but he somehow has not changed. Rocky tries to pick up the pieces, and opens an Italian restaurant, named "Adrian's" and begins coaching young boxers and the youth center. Nevertheless, Rocky feels that he does not just want to live the final chapter of his life as a "has-been" Champion. He feels empty, like a warrior without a war.

When the youth center gets into financial troubles, Rocky fighs a few local boxing matches to generate some short term liquidity for the center. Surprisingly, the old champion wins the first fights, and slowly but surely the old "Eye of the Tiger" comes back. He realizes that he does not want to end his life as a washed up loser, but wants to be true to himself, he was born a fighter, and cannot live his life pretending to be something he is not.

Rocky is not only fighting in the ring, but also within himself, and with the general public's attitude towards aging. Rocky knows that he is too old (now in his fifties) to box again, and that he has taken too much beating in the past. He knows that his body is not what it used to be, but he doesn't want to just give up on life. Giving up would go against Rocky's spirit, what he represents, and what the people who once believed in him expect.

Critics dismiss him, but after a few victories in the ring, more and more people ask the question: Is the impossible really possible? Rocky follows his instict, and decides that he will do what he was born to do, even if in the end it will mean his death. His love of his life is long gone, most of his friends have passed away (Mickey died in '' Rocky III '', and Apollo in '' IV ''), his old Italian neigborhood has changed, but one thing that has not changed is Rocky's desire to be the best. When the opportunity to fight the current champion, Mason Dixon, arises, Rocky decides to go for it, and take what he wants and desires, to be the best once again.

QUOTE FROM THE TRAILER ROCKY BALBOA (ROCKY VI)

''What is it you said to the kid?''

''The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows.''

''It's a very rough, mean place and no matter how tough you think you are it'll always bring you to your knees and keep you there.''

''Permanently.''

''If you let it.''

''You or nobody ain't never gonna hit as hard as life.''

''But it ain't about how hard ya hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.''

''How much you can take—and keep—moving forward?''

''If you know what you're worth go out and get what you're worth, but you gotta be willing to take the hit.''
