Robert Sosebee Woods (born March 13 , 1948 ) is an American Actor . Robert S. Woods, award winning actor, who created the role of Bo Buchanan on the soap opera “One Life To Live” in 1979. He plays the son of the powerful and rich Asa Buchanan. Woods served 15 months as a Green Beret in Vietnam. He attended California State University where he received his degree in broadcasting. There he became interested in acting and directing and after graduating he studied at The Film Acting Company Workshop. He has appeared in theater, films and television productions. His big break came with a role in TV series City Of Angels. He won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in 1983 for his role as Bo Buchanan. Robert took a break from his role as Bo to move to Los Angeles to care for his ailing mother and pursue other opportunities. In 1988 Woods retuned to his award winning role at One Life To Live. He has appeared on Television Series such as '' The Waltons '', '' Roseanne '', and the NBC Soap Opera , '' Days Of Our Lives '', but he is recognized by most for his Daytime Emmy Award -winning portrayal of Beauregard "Bo" Buchanan on the ABC Soap Opera , '' One Life To Live ''. He has played this role since 1979 . Robert Woods graduated Lakewood High School, Lakewood, California, in 1966, where he served as senior class president.
