Robert Guy




He was born in 1947, and educated at Radley College , and the Britannia Royal Naval College Dartmouth , and entered the Royal Navy in 1966.

He was promoted to Lieutenant in 1971, and was Aide-de-Camp to the Governor of Bermuda in 1973. In 1974 he was appointed Commanding Officer of the minesweeper HMS Ashton , and in the following year of HMS Kirleston . Guy qualified as a Principal Warfare Officer , passed the Ship Command Examination ( Pce ), and was a MNI .

He was promoted to Lieutenant-Commander in 1978, and was Equerry to Her Majesty The Queen 1977-1980. He was also attached to the Princes Andrew and Edward.

From 1981-1982 he was First Lieutenant of the Frigate HMS Antelope , and then attended the Joint Service Defence College , receiving the Jsdc . Promoted to Commander 31 December 1983, he was Commanding Officer of the Frigate HMS Sirius ] 1984-1985.

By 1990 he was on the staff of the Commander-in-Chief Fleet , and was promoted to Captain 30 June 1991. By 1994 he was in the Ministry Of Defence in London .

Guy was made an LVO 1980.
