ALTERNATE USES Railroad rights-of-way need not exclusively be for railroad tracks and related equipment. Easements are frequently given to permit the laying of communication cables (such as Optical Fiber ) or Natural Gas pipelines, or to run Electric Power Transmission lines overhead.
