Located along the lower Kennebecasis River valley, Quispamsis borders the town of Rothesay to the southwest and the Hammond River to the northeast. The Gondola Point neighbourhood is home to a cable Ferry crossing the Kennebecasis River, linking the Kingston Peninsula. The town covers almost 60 km&2. Outdoor recreational opportunities are available at the Hammond River Nature Park, Ritchie Lake, and Meenan's Cove. In response to a sprawl problem (and provincial government cuts in municipal grants), several municipalities in the lower Kennebecasis River valley were amalgamated on January 1 , 1998 by the provincial government.
