Pyranose is a collective term for Carbohydrate s which have a chemical structure that includes a six-membered ring consisting of five carbons and one oxygen. The pyranose ring is formed by the reaction of the C-5 Alcohol group of a sugar with its C-1 Aldehyde forming an intramolecular Hemiacetal .
