The Puerto Rico national football team is the national team of Puerto Rico and is controlled by Federación Puertorriqueña De Fútbol . However, Puerto Rico has been a U.S. territory for over a century, and largely due to this influence Baseball is a far more popular sport. Puerto Rico's national football team is one of the weakest teams in the world and did not even enter the Qualification For The 2006 World Cup .

Some of the Puerto Rican national team's players also play for the Puerto Rico Islanders of the USL First Division .

Chris Armas originally played for Puerto Rico. The defensive midfielder was capped five times, but none were official matches. He was therefore allowed to play for the USA, with whom he has been capped over fifty times.
