Pseudorealism

Pseudorealism, '''pseudo-realism''', or '''pseudo realism''' is a visual arts style, in which an altered view of reality is presented. In Film , the term refers to heavy use of Special Effects to create a fantasy with the illusion of reality. In art, it is a style in which reality is depicted through abstract symbols and off-beat color schemes. Among the proponents of this new style of art is Indian artist Devajyoti Ray .

Pseudorealism is often considered a counterpart of Magic Realism in literature. However US artists like Paul Cadmus and Alex Covey had also initiated a style which was called Magic realism, which continues to remain popular.
