Project64, commonly referred to as PJ64, is a Nintendo64 Emulator that was created in 2001 . It uses a plugin system much like 1964 . Some included plugins would be Jabo's graphical and sound Plugins . This emulator supports an array of games. It is often disputed as to which emulator's core is better, either 1964 's or Project64 's. It is also often agreed that the plugins that come with Project64 are much better, whilst the 1964 core is more stable. Mixing Project64 's plugin's with 1964 's core creates a very powerful emulator. With the help of 3rd Party plugins like Rice Video Project64 can load high resolution Textures . PROJECT64 1.7 The Beta development of Project64 1.7 has begun. The final build will probably be realeased in 2007. However to gain access to Project 1.7 development and beta builds you have donate at least 20$ to the Project64 Team. COMPATIBILITY Project64 is highly compatible with N64 Roms . Most games are emulated perfectly, with a framerate of 60/50 FPS (which is also the native framerate of the Nintendo 64 ). However, some ROMs are not compatible.
