Poplar is a station on the Docklands Light Railway in Travelcard Zone 2 . It serves as a junction between trains travelling Eastbound towards Beckton and King George V and trains travelling Northbound to Stratford . To the west the next station is Westferry , to the south is West India Quay , on the Stratford branch it is All Saints and to Beckton Blackwall . It was opened on 21 August 1987. There was a station of the same name on the London And Blackwall Railway between 8 July 1840 to 4 May 1926. The central depot for the DLR is accessed through a pair of tracks just east of Poplar.
