.]] Pontevedra is a Province in the southwestern part of the Autonomous Community of Galicia , Spain . It is bordered by the provinces of A Coruña , Lugo , and Ourense , and by Portugal and the Atlantic Ocean . Its population is 919,934 (2002), of which no more than 8% live in the capital, Pontevedra . Unusually, the largest city is not the capital, but the city of Vigo .
