Alex Rider is a Fictional Character and novel series created and written by Anthony Horowitz . The books are primarily for ages 9+. The series revolves around the life of Alex Rider, a 14-year old Orphan schoolboy working for MI6 . He is often referred to as something of a youthful James Bond . PLOT SUMMARIES ''Stormbreaker'' See Also: Stormbreaker (novel) When his uncle Ian Rider dies in suspicious circumstances, Alex Rider investigates. To his amazement and horror, he discovers that his uncle is an MI6 agent. In his investigation, Alex Rider uses his skills to escape several tight situations. This catches the attention of the MI6 and they decide to use him as a juvenile spy. Although Alex is unwilling, they threaten him with deporting his housekeeper, Jack Starbright, back to America. It turns out that MI6 has suspicions about Stormbreaker, a new computer system. Herod Sayle, a Lebanese who went from rags to riches, is mass-producing and donating them to every school in England, in exchange for British citizenship. Ian Rider was sent to investigate but was murdered on his way back. Alex Rider is sent to infiltrate Herod Sayles' company. He discovers that each one is loaded with lethal Smallpox . Once activated in a grand ceremony, they will kill each and every schoolchild in Britain. It appears that Sayle, who had a horrible time with bullies in school, including the prime minister, is set on getting his revenge by killing every child in Britain... |
