Its capital "Piranshahr" is a city in northwestern Iran with more than 66,396 inhabitants {Link without Title} , west of Lake Urmia about 1,300 metres above sea level. It lies in the West Azarbaijan Province of Iran . People living in Piranshahr are called "Piranshahri." The term is also sometimes applied to those living in one of the neighboring communities.
