As an Islander, Turgeon was awarded the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy in the 1992-93 NHL Season . That same season, in the final game of a first round playoff series vs. the Washington Capitals , Turgeon was viciously hit from his blind spot by Dale Hunter after scoring a goal that put the Islanders ahead for good. Hunter was suspended for a then-record 21 games as a result of the incident, and Turgeon missed the entire second round. Turgeon has never played in a Stanley Cup Final. On 8 November 2005 , Turgeon became the 34th player in NHL history to score 500 goals. SEE ALSO
