He was said to be the son of the sister of his predecessor, Saint Stephen ''(István I)'' , and Pietro II Orseolo , the Doge of Venice . Unlike Stephen, he was unable to properly rule the nation and got into conflict with the largely Pagan nobility. His reign ended when the nobility started the so-called Vatha Pagan Rising .
