RUGBY LEAGUE CAREER Vautin made his name in the 1980's playing for Western Suburbs (Brisbane), the Manly Sea Eagles , a Sydney club, Queensland in the State Of Origin , and the Australia National Rugby League Team . He later went on to finish his playing career with the Eastern Suburbs team. POST-PLAYING CAREER The Footy Show He has hosted The Rugby League Footy Show with Peter Sterling since 1994 , propelling him to stardom. The show is popular with the rugby league following states, New South Wales and Queensland. He suffered a serious Concussion in 2005 filming for the show in a segment called "Anti-Ad", when he hit his head on concrete, with a helmet luckily minimising the damage. He did not host for a period of 10 or so weeks. {Link without Title} Fortunately, Vautin later returned in the 2005 season of the Footy Show, but has vowed not to do any more stupid stunts. Sam and the Fatman In 1999 he co-hosted a post-football season show with Australian Rules Football commentator Sam Newman , called "Sam and the Fatman". It was a short-lived variety style show, with the pair's sharp wit and humour combining. The show was later spoofed in the 2000 Good News Week production of "Paul and the Fatman" (with Paul McDermott and Mikey Robbins .) Fatty's Catch In the 1994 Cricket exhibition match celebrating the playing career of Allan Border , Vautin took one of the flukiest catches ever seen in any form of cricket, and it was replayed Ad Nauseum on the Nine Network . It has also been parodied by The Twelfth Man , and partially due to this parody it is sometimes referred to as "That Fucking catch". Who Wants to be a Millionaire Following Eddie McGuire's resignation from hosting the popular show, " Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? ", there has been some speculation that Paul Vautin will take over as host of the show. This speculation comes after commercials promoting the show with Paul Vautin shaking Eddie McGuire's hand on set were broadcast on Channel 9 in March 2006. The season premiere of "Who Wants to be a Millioniare?" is due to air on 27 March 2006 .
