Patrick Eston is a British politician and leader of the Veritas party.

Patrick Eston is a Conservatory manufacturer from Atherstone in Warwickshire with two sons, Steven and Damian, and a dog, as featured on Patrick's Christmas card to members of Veritas.

Before joining Veritas, he was a leading member of the Senior Citizens Party before leaving to briefly join The New Party . He joined Veritas on its formation and was the first Veritas party secretary and second party Chairman. In 2005 he stood unsuccessfully for the constituency of Tamworth , losing his deposit.

LEADERSHIP OF VERITAS

On 29 July 2005, following the resignation of party leader Robert Kilroy-Silk , Patrick Eston became acting leader of Veritas. In September he was elected to the post of party leader on a turnout of only 22% of Veritas members. Prior to his victory, he sent a message out to members stating "I won't serve under anyone else". He appointed Alan Ainscow , his former leadership election Campaign Manager as Veritas Party Chairman.

Eston began discussions with the English Democrats Party , but they achieved no concrete results. Instead, he announced what he described as a new direction for Veritas, stating "No longer will we be considered a rump of UKIP , we have a broad range of aims, ambitions and policies. We are now after a 3 month period of reorganisation raising our game. Veritas will be the party that will take back our country from those who have stolen it and give it back to its people." However, in 2006 he entered into merger talks with UKIP.
