The Pakistan national football team is the national team of Pakistan and is controlled by the Pakistan Football Federation . A member of the AFC , it is one of its weakest teams, having yet to qualify for either the World Cup or Asian Cup championships. This state of affairs may be attributable in part to the popularity of Cricket .

However in recent times the Pakistani government and the PFF have invested more into football and as a result seen the national side make considerable improvments.

On 7 December, 2005 Fulham defender Zesh Rehman made his debut for the Pakistani team, becoming the first Pakistani international Footballer to play professional football in England. Zeshan joins a list of talented footballers in a Pakistan team that is now becoming stronger.
