In the Generation One Dreamwave comics War Within series, Overhaul was the name of an Autobot who died in one of the early battles of the Great War. TRANSFORMERS: CYBERTRON Overhaul is a resident of Cybertron . A reckless Autobot with a reputation for acting first and thinking second. Everyone refuses to work with him because of his recklessness. A self-confessed brawler, and proud of it, Overhaul is the kind of Autobot that pushes himself to the limit in everything he does (Especially if it involves action). Once, this attitude meant that his teammates and allies were pulled along with him, usually getting him (and them) hurt when he bit off more then they could chew, but he’s since become a team player, understanding it makes him stronger. That doesn’t mean he won’t go for a good old one-on-one fight if he can help it. In the English version, Overhaul's voice is provided by Paul Dobson , while an unknown actor plays Leobreaker. In Galaxy Force, he is played by Hisao Egawa . Prior to the start of the series, Overhaul was a soldier in the Autobot army known for single-handedly winning many battles. However, he was also known for getting too absorbed in his battles, which led to many of his fellow Autobots shunning him. This led to Overhaul working alone on every mission - or so he thought. In reality, his leader, Optimus Prime could always be counted on to back him up. By the beginning of the series, Overhaul had become a member of Optimus's team, along such individuals as Jetfire and Hot Shot . For most of the early part of the series, he would remain a background character, itching to prove himself and show his true mettle, like he had back in the day. It wasn't until he was sent to, and subsequently stranded, on Jungle Planet that he became more prominent. When Overhaul first arrived on the Jungle Planet Backstop is the first to befriend him. Snarl who meets up with Overhaul in Backstop's lair reveals that Snarl is, in actuality, Backstop's apprentice. Snarl then reveals that Megatron is attempting to trick the Jungle Planet's dictator Scourge into revealing the location of the Cyber Planet Key . It wasn't until Scourge tried to kill first Snarl and then Overhaul that a new feeling came over him. Overhaul realized that the Jungle Planet was a living being that needed to be in harmony with itself. This new feeling caused a scanning to happen. Something scanned a Hieroglyph of a Lion (or a liger, according to the Japanese version of the show) on the wall of the temple and thus the birth of Leobreaker . Hasbro Bio: One tough AUTOBOT, OVERHAUL has never thought much of intellectual pursuits. His solution to a complex problem is generally to stomp on it until it gets simple or stops being a problem. He's never felt that he's had the respect his strength deserves from the other AUTOBOTS, but now that he's on the Jungle Planet -- where might makes right -- he feels right at home Cyber Code Information: In the original design stage for TF: Cybertron, Overhaul was going to be called "Trailbreaker", a popular name from the 1980's. This was to match up with his later upgrade to "Leobreaker" -- a lion on the Jungle Planet. His name was changed to Overhaul, but the Lion's name stayed the same! A lion would sound kinda funny with the name "Leohaul", right? |
