Information About

Over (professional Wrestling)

To be over also means being popular with the fans. This term is not limited to fan favorites, or babyfaces, but can refer to heels who are good at getting a negative crowd reaction as well; to be "over" means that the crowd cares about you, which is the most important thing in pro wrestling. In his heyday, The Rock was massively over with the WWE fans, who cheered loudly the moment they heard his entrance music. During that era Triple H The Rock's greatest adversary was booed loudly as he was able to generate huge amounts of heat from the crowd meaning that he was over as a heel. As of 2005 , Edge and JBL were over as Heels , being booed whenever they appeared. Another recent example of someone being over was former WWE wrestler Christian who was more than over with the fans, this further confuses people regarding his inexplicable cut to main event status.
