The Ottawa Carleton District School Board is a group of fourteen Elected Trustees responsible for the operation of the English Public school district for the city of Ottawa, Ontario . The district is also responsible for publicly funded K-12 schools in its territory excluding those operated by Francophone (i.e. French Canadian ), or Catholic districts (which are also publicly funded). There is one trustee for each of the twelve School Zone s and two student trustees. Each year, this board elects one of their members to be the chair and another to be the vice-chair. The board had a budget of $576.7 million for the 2004-2005 school year. This board was the result of merging the Ottawa Board Of Education — which included the old city of Ottawa, Vanier and Rockcliffe Park — with the Carleton Board Of Education which included the outer suburbs. The headquarters for the new agency is located in Nepean, Ontario , at the former headquarters of the Carleton Board of Education. SEE ALSO EXTERNAL LINK |
