It is 100 years old, and according to Passion-4-Zoos International, the oldest in the Southwest. It is one of the top Zoos in the nation. It contains 110 acres (450,000 m²) and is home to more than 2,800 of the world's most exotic animals. It is located in Northeast Oklahoma City, Oklahoma near the intersection of Interstate 35 and Interstate 44. It can be accessed from Interstate 35 by 50th Street or from Interstate 44 by Martin Luther King Blvd. The zoo and the Oklahoma City Adventure Entertainment District are served by the Adventure Line Purple Trolley, see Purple Trolley Link. Surrounding the zoo is Lincoln Park, Northeast Lake and the Lincoln Park Golf Course. Other attractions adjacent to the zoo are the Omniplex - Science Museum, the , 45 Division Infantry Museum, Tinseltown-USA, and Coles Garden.
