The North Shore Granny Murders was the name given to a series of Murders of elderly females in Sydney's North Shore district from 1989 to 1990 . The murders gained the name as all but one of the victims were aged 80 or over and most were living in the Sydney North Shore area. All six victims were attacked with a blunt instrument in their own homes in broad daylight, Sexually Abused and Strangled with their own Underwear . John Wayne Glover was convicted of the murders. In the movie, the "Granny Killer" is committing crimes in Paris instead of Sydney . On the 8 September 2005 he was found hanged in his cell at the Lithgow Gaol and is believed to have committed suicide after battling Cancer for several years. He was 72. |
