Located to the north of the village is the former RAF station of RAF North Luffenham . The village cemetery contains the graves of 11 Canadian servicemen who died whilst serving at the station in the 1950s ; these are maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission . It once had a railway station which was located to the south of the village and also served the neighbouring village of South Luffenham . It was opened in 1848 and closed in 1966. |
