North Harris Montgomery Community College District




NHMCCD covers Montgomery County and the northern portion of Harris County . NHMCCD operates colleges in unincorporated areas of Harris and Montgomery Counties and in the cities of Houston and Tomball .

The NHMCCD taxation base includes areas in Aldine ISD , Conroe ISD , Cypress-Fairbanks ISD , Humble ISD , Klein ISD , Magnolia ISD , New Caney ISD , Splendora ISD , Spring ISD , Tomball ISD , and Willis ISD .


HISTORY

The voters of Aldine ISD, Spring ISD, and Humble ISD created North Harris County College. The name changed to ''North Harris Montgomery Community College District'' when the district expanded in 1991.


NHMCCD CAMPUSES


  • Cy-Fair College (Harris County)

  • Cy-Fair College, opened 2002, serves more than 10,300 students with unique programs in fire science technology, logistics management and sonography.


  • Kingwood College (Houston)

  • Kingwood College, opened 1984, serves more than 7,200 students and has distinct offerings in interior design, respiratory care and dental hygiene.


  • Montgomery College (Montgomery County)

  • Montgomery College, opened 1992, serves more than 8,000 students and is the only NHMCCD college to offer biotechnology and physical therapist assistant degrees.


  • North Harris College (Houston)

  • North Harris College, opened 1973, serves more than 11,000 students and is the district’s only source for automotive technology, health information technology, child development and family studies, paralegal studies, medical assisting and pharmacy technology programs.




  • The University Center

  • The University Center is a partnership between NHMCCD and six Texas universities through which district students can pursue bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees as well as post-baccalaureate teacher certifications.
