HOUSING


Houses tend to be large late-Victorian or Edwardian, set in generally spacious grounds. These are mostly found sheltering behind high hedges or electric gates. Highest concentration around the perimetre of the course and towards Windsor Great Park .

More modest, recent houses (mostly 1970/80s) can be found on the estate straddled by Gainsborough Drive.


VILLAGE CENTRE


The wide, but generally unremarkable, High Street forms the centre of the village. Most of the expcted facilities one would expect find in a small town are here, including a supermarket anf petrol station. Most buildings are post-war with flats above the ground floor retail space.

Ascot is part of the district administered by the Royal Borough Of Windsor And Maidenhead , a Unitary Authority .
