HISTORY OF NIPPON TV On August 28 , 1953 , Nippon TV started to broadcast television as the first commercial television broadcast and on September 10 , 1960 , was given right to broadcast Color Television in 1966 . On April 1 , 1966 , Nippon TV formed Nippon News Network (NNN), and formed Nippon Television Network System (NNS) in 1973 . In 1985 , Nippon TV completed a studio in New York City . In July, 2003 , the logo mark of Nippon TV for Japan was changed (Nippon TV → Nittele). On February 29 , 2004 , the headquarters moved from Kojimachi to Shiodome. The Nippon radio station was called All Night Nippon, it became popular in Japan very fast. One thing they did to be well known in Japan was give away free copies of Super Mario Bros, except it had stuff in it that related to the radio station. The game was titled All Night Nippon Super Mario Bros, only 1,000 copies of this game was created. NTV's television network has been plagued by scandal in recent years, most notably after it was revealed that an NTV producer paid viewers to manipulate TV ratings. NTV Chairman Seiichiro Ujiie was compelled to step down from his post at the National Association of Commercial Broadcasters of Japan, an industry-wide ethics body, in October 2003. Shortly thereafter, he resigned as Chairman. NTV subsequently came under fire for staging part of a news show. BROADCASTING Nippon TV Analog TV
