In daytime, he was best known for his role as Lionel Lockridge on '' Santa Barbara '', which he played from 1984 to 1988 and from 1990 to 1993 . He also played Robert Delaney on '' Another World '' from 1972 to 1976 . Coster played smaller roles on other daytime dramas such as '' One Life To Live '' and '' As The World Turns ''. Coster's first appearance on television was on an episode of '' The U.S. Steel Hour '' in 1959 . Since then, he has racked up over 80 appearances on three dozen television shows, guest-starring most notably as David Warner, the father of Blair Warner , on the sitcom '' The Facts Of Life ''.
