Photo: Quentin Jones]] Neil Perry is a highly acclaimed and prominent Australian Chef , Author , QANTAS catering coordinator, Television Presenter , Food Brand and Restaurateur . Since beginning his career in the hospitality industry when he was 19, Neil has openned some of Sydney's, and quite literally, Australia's best restaurants and eateries, Rockpool being his most acclaimed. Neil Perry openned Rockpool Restaurant, in the Sydney suburb of the Rocks, with his cousin Trish Richards in 1989 and has been credited to being Sydney's and Australia's best restaurant. It is ranked number three on the international Restaurant Magazine 'Top 10 list', was named Australia's 'Restaurant of the Year' in 2004 by the Australian Gourmet Traveller and has consistently been highly recommended by food critics throughout Australia and the world. However in 2005, Matthew Evans, Sydney Good Food Guide editor removed Rockpool's 3 hat rating to a 2, a crushing blow for Neil Perry, holding this prestigous rank for 5 years previous. Perry also has and owns XO Retaurant in Surry Hills and has previsouly owned Wockpool. Neil also heads a consultation team for the Australian flagship airline QANTAS , whom which he creates and controls in-flight menus. Menus are developed quarterly for International First and Business Class travellers, with the team overseeing the implementation and introduction to catering centres at key ports. The Rockpool Consulting team are integral to the food and wine training and communication for all premium flight attendants, and in addition work with Qantas to develop service delivery to reflect a more modern in-flight dining experience. Neil is also author of three recipe books; Rockpool, Simply Asian and just recently The Food I Love; 4 classical/recipe CD’s; creator of a range of Neil Perry Fresh food products in conjunction with Woolworth’s Supermarkets; and a television presenter on The LifeStyle Channel with whom he has produced several series around the region under the banners of FoodSource, Fresh & Fast, Rockpool Sessions, FoodSource Asia, FoodSource New Zealand and FoodSource North Queensland.
