Information About

National Hockey Stadium

The stadium was built in the early 1990s as a new national Field Hockey stadium, with a Synthetic Pitch . As part of the tenancy arrangement with MK Dons, a grass pitch has been laid, meaning that the stadium is out of commission for hockey for the time being. Internationals and playoffs are thus being held at various leading club grounds around the country. England Hockey maintains its headquarters at the stadium. England Hockey is considering the future of the stadium after the Dons leave, because it does not appear to have achieved the level of use (and economic viability) that they had envisaged. This situation is not helped by the building of another hockey facility in Stratford , London , as part of the 2012 Olympics facilities.

The stadium is just beside Milton Keynes Central railway station, near the A509 exit from the A5 .
