A famous battle of the English Civil War , the Battle Of Naseby , took place a few miles from the village in 1645 . The site of this battle, Naseby Field , lies about 1.5 miles north of the village. The village boasts a small Battle of Naseby Museum . EXTERNAL LINKS The former Borough of Naseby in Central Otago in New Zealand bears the same name. A British warship was named the ''Naseby'' in honor of the battle; it was later (after the change of government) renamed the Royal Charles . |
