Naomi Robson (born August 1963), 42, is the current autocue reader for the east-coast version of '' Today Tonight '', a Public Affairs program which screens weeknights on the Seven Network . Naomi was born in California, USA . As a child she travelled around the world due to her father's work, spending most of her time between Australia and England . She eventually settled in Australia and studied a Bachelor Of Arts at Melbourne's La Trobe University for two years, majoring in Archaeology and Modern Art . She eventually abandoned her study to pursue her passion for Photojournalism . Over the next few years she worked in numerous roles including; an assistant to respected Photojournalist s as well as working as a Copywriter for an advertising agency. She then took a working trip to London during this time she worked as a Journalist and as an editorial assistant for a magazine publishing house in the UK. After three years in London she returned to Australia, and in 1989 became an assistance editor as well as a feature writer for Personal Success magazine. A year later she joined '' Seven News '' initially as a general news reporter but in just three weeks she had been promoted to presenting news on '' Tonight Live '' fronted by comedian Steve Vizard . Over the years she presented '' Seven's Late News '', Seven's Weekend News bulletins and reported for Current Affairs program ''Real Life'', she was also the summer host for the program. After a venture to her home country in 1995 Naomi realised she missed Australia too much and soon returned home. When back in Australia Robson hosted ''Our Victoria'', a travel show for the Victorian market, and co-hosted '' Seven's News At Five '' with Peter Ford in Melbourne . In 1997, Naomi became the host of the Melbourne version of '' Today Tonight ''. Subsequently, the programme has been expanded and is now shown in Sydney and Brisbane , with Robson as host. CONTROVERSY In 2005 , Naomi was aired on Triple J Radio, yelling obscenities at her production crew, before the nights show went to air. This incident lead to some viewers seeing Naomi as somewhat of a " Diva " in her field of work. During the conversation Ms Robson says: "F -- drop it in at the last minute ... You should be able to read every f -- word, every comma, it should be very specific because if we've seen it before we've got a chance in our mind to go 'oh look they've f - up this, they've f - up that.' " She goes on to say: "You're the f -- who wasn't able to, you know, sort of, work it out as you were going along. "Well f -- you sit up here and you read the bloody autocue." {Link without Title} Robson later apologised for the out-burst attempting to restore her tarnished public image. On 29 March 2006 , a relationship between Naomi and an associate of convicted Drug Dealer Tony Mokbel was revealed by the Australian media. During Today Tonight 's 29 March broadcast, Naomi claimed that Mokbel's associate was nothing more than a 'casual acquaintence' and that she knew him as a businessman by a different name (his real name is the subject of a confidentiality order in the Supreme Court Of Victoria ). {Link without Title} BRIEF CAREER HISTORY
