The community of Nanisivik is located just inland from Strathcona Sound , near the community of Arctic Bay in Canada 's Nunavut Territory. The community was established to service the Lead - Zinc mine, but '''is now closed'''. Due to heavy lead-zinc contamination, hopes have been dashed for Arctic Bay residents to have several of the buildings relocated to housing-short Arctic Bay. |
