Nagaraja

Nagaraja is a Sanskrit word from Naga-snake & Raj-king meaning King of Snakes. All snakes are children of Kashyap & Kadru and the eldest of them Vasuki is said as Nagraja, who was devotee of Vishnu.
Later on Takshak younger brother of Vasuki with his famous cruelty & venom influenced all the snakes and became lord of them all.
Hence the title Nagraja is also in use for Takshak and both Vasuki & Takshak are called by the same title, in honour of two different opposite natures of snake.
Vasuki represents friendly aspect of snakes who save food from rodents & Takshak who is feared by all due to his venom.
According to mythology Takshak made a new capital city for him and named it after him as Takshshila or Taxila.
