Novo scored 25 goals in his first season at Rangers, scoring the goal at Hibernian that won Rangers the league title. 19 of these goals came in the Scottish Premier League, with 3 in the league cup and 3 in European competition, including one against eventual UEFA cup winners CSKA Moscow in the qualifying stages of the UEFA Champions League. He wears shirt number 10 was a regular in the Rangers side until the start of the 2005/6 season where he damaged his right foot, he broke his fifth metatarsal, which is the same bone David Beckham broke, He was ruled out for several months. He made his first Rangers F.C. come back against Dundee United, although he did play well. Before he came to Scotland, he played for Spanish team, Huesca. He was then spotted by a Raith Rovers Scout and was bought from them. As a boy he was Rangers F.C. fan.
