Mount Humphreys is a Peak in the Sierra Nevada ( Inyo County , California , USA ). It is the highest peak in the area of Bishop, California . The mountain was named by the California Geological Survey of 1873 after Andrew Humphreys , the chief Engineer of the United States Army at the time.
