> Mount Cleveland is a Mountain that forms the western half of Chuginadak Island in the central Aleutian Islands of Alaska . This symmetrical stratovolcano has been the site of numerous eruptions in the last two centuries; the most recent eruption occurred in 1994. In 1944, a U.S. Army serviceman was reportedly killed by an eruption from Mount Cleveland. At 3 AM, on October the 7th, 2005, Mount Cleveland produced a minor eruption resulting in a low altitude ash cloud that rose no higher than 4600 meters into the sky. It drifted over 90 miles in an east south easterly direction before dissipating. This was observed solely through satellite imagery. REFERENCES
