Morrisville is situated on the Delaware River directly across from Trenton, New Jersey . As of the 2000 census, the borough had a total population of 10,023. Significant attention should be brought to its unique location, apart of the eastern-most piece of land jutting into neighboring New Jersey. GEOGRAPHY Morrisville is located at 40°12'27" North, 74°46'48" West (40.207458, -74.779918). According to the United States Census Bureau , the borough has a total area of 5.1 Km&2 (2.0 Mi&2 ). 4.6 km&2 (1.8 mi&2) of it is land and 0.5 km&2 (0.2 mi&2) of it is water. The total area is 10.15% water. DEMOGRAPHICS As of the Census of 2000, there were 10,023 people, 4,154 households, and 2,612 families residing in the borough. The Population Density was 2,186.4/km&2 (5,659.0/mi&2). There were 4,313 housing units at an average density of 940.8/km&2 (2,435.1/mi&2). The racial makeup of the borough was 75.98% White , 19.14% African American , 0.18% Native American , 1.20% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 2.08% from Other Races , and 1.44% from two or more races. 4.82% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 4,154 households out of which 31.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 42.7% were Married Couples living together, 15.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.1% were non-families. 30.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.41 and the average family size was 3.01. In the borough the population was spread out with 24.7% under the age of 18, 7.9% from 18 to 24, 34.3% from 25 to 44, 21.1% from 45 to 64, and 12.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 91.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.7 males. The median income for a household in the borough was $43,095, and the median income for a family was $53,316. Males had a median income of $40,204 versus $30,110 for females. The Per Capita Income for the borough was $21,404. 10.0% of the population and 8.9% of families were below the Poverty Line . 12.1% of those under the age of 18 and 8.8% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line. SPORTS In 1955 the Morrisville Little League baseball team defeated Merchantville, NJ to claim the Little League World Series title. It is one of four Pennsylvania teams to have won the tournament since its inception in 1947 . TRIVIA
