Information About

Monolithic Dome

The dome, when finished, is Earthquake , Tornado and Hurricane resistant (FEMA rates them as "near-absolute protection", from F5 tornadoes, or Category 5 Hurricanes). It is fire resistant, insect resistant, bullet resistant, and can save more than 50% on home heating and cooling bills (many owners see 90% savings). Monolithic domes, because of their insulating properties, are excellent choices for refrigerated silos.

Short of subterranean bunkers, it is the structure most capable of withstanding Nuclear Blast effects. They are very nearly indestructible; attempts to demolish one with a wrecking ball merely put holes in the walls, leaving the dome otherwise structurally sound. The dome will more closely resemble a piece of Swiss Cheese before it actually collapses.

The Monolithic Dome Institute is a training school for new dome builders.
