Mir Yannick is a fictional character from the Zork universe and the villain in Zork Grand Inquisitor . In a exogenic reference to the Napster Controversey , Mir Yannick, Dalboz of Gurth's G.U.E. Tech roommate, discovered the long missing Totemizer Machine in 1033 GUE. The Totemizer Machine allowed him to be promoted from Junior Executive Maniacal Zealot to '''Senior Executive Maniacal Zealot''' when he showed the Machine to his supervisor. Mir Yannick then Totemized Griff, an associate of Dalboz, and dumped his body down a well, after he discovered Dalboz's plan to search the Time Tunnels for the lost artifacts of Zork in 1037 GUE. Brog, an especially dim-witted Brogmoid is also Totemized accidentially. In 1046 GUE Yannick was promoted again to the position of Vice President of Unreasoning Zeal, who answers only to the Grand Inquisitor. Later that year, the Grand Inquisitor, according to Yannick, accidentally bludgeoned himself to death during a meeting with Yannick. Yannick was named '''Grand Inquisitor''' in 1047 GUE following the tragedy. Just one year later, Syovar III accidentally strangled himself, according to Yannick, the only witness. Yannick became the Sovereign of Quendor (which he renamed the Theocracy of Quendor) and the Frobozz Magic Company , the conglomerate which owns all the specialized subsidiaries who produce items in all the Zork games, which he renamed '''Frobozz Electric'''. Yannick proceded to defeat and kill Dalboz, the Dungeon Master in 1050 GUE, further consolidating his power. Dalboz's spirit found its way to a rusty old lamp under the dock at Port Foozle, a reference to the recurring lamp which is integral to much of the Zork franchise. In 1058 GUE, Yannick caputred Lucy Flathead , a member of the Magic Resistance and sentenced her to Totemization for defacing Inquisition propaganda when he learned she was the rightful heir to the Flathead Dynasty and the Empire of Quendor. The adventurer of Zork Grand Inquisitor succeeds in stopping Yannick's plot to brainwash all of Quendor and restores Lucy Flathead as the rightful Queen of Quendor. Yannick's ghost would later incite the Magic Wars which pitted the Eastlands against the Westlands.
