Michael Peca (born March 26 , 1974 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a Canadian Professional Ice Hockey Forward who currently plays for the Edmonton Oilers in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted in the second round, 40th overall in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft by the Vancouver Canucks . Previously, he played for the Vancouver Canucks, Buffalo Sabres , and New York Islanders . Michael is also a two time recipient of the Frank J. Selke Trophy for best defensive forward in 1997 and 2002 . Peca joined the Oilers after being traded in exchange for Michael York . Michael was also a member of the gold medal winning Canadian ice hockey team at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City .
