Coppola married Doris Lehman in 1943 and the following year they had a son. On April 21 , 1961 Coppola was indicted on four counts of income tax evasion. After one mistrial the court case started on February 12 , 1962 . Coppola pleaded guilty and was sentenced to serve a year and a day on each of the four counts, the sentences to run concurrently, and he was fined $40,000, and placed on four years probation after he had served his sentence. Coppola was admitted to Massachusetts General Hospital in September of 1966 and died in October 1 , 1966 . |
