Michael York (born October 16 , 1967 in Tamworth, NSW ) is a former Field Hockey defender from Australia , who participated in four Summer Olympics for his native country, starting in 1988 . From 1992 on, at each appearance the skilled veteran won a medal. York, Nickname d ''Yorky'' by his team mates, was the captain of the team in the 1990s . During his international career, he read the play exceptionally well, according to the experts. He represented Australia furthermore at three Hockey World Cup s ( 1990 , 1994 , and 1998 ) and in ten Champions Trophy tournaments.
