Taibi started his career for Italian Serie C1 side, Licata , and stayed there until 1989. He appeared for Licata only once, then moved to Trento as a first-choice goalkeepers when he played for Trento twenty-three times. Unfortunately, he moved only after a year, which was 1990 , to A.C. Milan . Like his first club, he was not used at all, and shortly moved to C1 club Como . One year was how long he played for Como, before moving to Piacenza . Taibi stayed there for six years and appeared for most of the club's games. Around this period of time, Taibi had his glory years. Piacenza thought his time was over, so they sold him to the club which did not play him, A.C. Milan . Luckily, the club realized his true potential, and played him for half a season's games as a backup to fellow teammate, Sebastiano Rossi , then sold him to fellow Serie A club, Venezia . Like his previous club, Venezia played him in nearly every game, but that was shortlived. During his last year at Venezia, he was only played once. English Premier League club Manchester United brought him over for a price of 4.4 million pounds. Massimo competed with other Manchester United keepers, Mark Bosnich and Raimond Van Der Gouw , for the first-team place at United, but lost out, after making a Horrible Gaffe that resulted in a goal. Following this incident, one British newspaper dubbed him 'The Blind Venetian', as a pun on Venetian Blinds . He was only played four times. He then moved to Reggina , where he was played regularly. In 2000, he gained much popularity by scoring a goal in a match versus Udinese Calcio. After his two year spell there, he was shifted to Atalanta. In the summer of 2005, he went to play for Torino Calcio. |
