Massanutten Mountain

On the Eastern side of the mountain range lies the Page Valley and Blue Ridge Mountains on the Western side lies the North-Central Shenandoah Valley and Allegheny Mountains . In 1971, the Massanutten Mountain ski lodge and four season resort village was created on the peak and has nearly doubled in size since Great Eastern Resorts bought the private resort in 1995 . Some of the wildlife that occurs on Massanutten includes Black Bear , Wild Turkey s, White-tailed Deer , Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake s, and Luna Moth s. Some of the plant life includes Mayapple , Bluet s, Wild Lupine , Cardinal Flower , and Pinxter Flower .
