Route 193 is called University Boulevard (named after the University Of Maryland, College Park ) from its western terminus to its junction with U.S. Route 1 ( Baltimore Avenue) in College Park, and it is called Greenbelt Road from its junction with Route 1 eastward. Route 193's intersection with U.S. Highway 29 (Colesville Road) in Silver Spring is informally known as " Four Corners ." Route 193 crosses the Capital Beltway (I-495) twice--once in Greenbelt, and once in Silver Spring. Other major junctions are with Route 1 in College Park, with Route 650 ( New Hampshire Avenue ) in Langley Park, with Route 97 ( Georgia Avenue ) in Glenmont , with Route 201 (Kenilworth Avenue) in Greenbelt, and with the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (Route 295), also in Greenbelt. Route 193 was also the former designation of Connecticut Avenue, now signed Maryland State Highway 185 . SEE ALSO EXTERNAL LINKS |
